Mumbly Terms of Use

Effective date: October 21, 2026

This is an English translation of the Korean original (이용약관). If the two differ, the Korean version governs.

Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms set out the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of Spreneur Inc. (the "Company") and its members in using Mumbly (the "Service"), which the Company provides.

Article 2 (Definitions)

Article 3 (Posting and Changes to These Terms)

  1. The Company posts these Terms in the app and on the website.
  2. The Company may change these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. When it does, it gives notice of the changes and their effective date 7 days in advance, or 30 days in advance for changes unfavorable to members.
  3. A member who does not agree to the changed Terms may withdraw. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date counts as agreeing to the changed Terms.

Article 4 (Sign-Up)

  1. You sign up for the Service with an Apple or Google account. You must agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy when signing up.
  2. Children under 14 may not sign up. People living in Vietnam may sign up only if they are 16 or older. If the Company learns that someone below this age has signed up, it may delete that account.
  3. You may not sign up or sign in with another person's account.

Article 5 (What the Service Provides)

  1. The Company provides the following features.
    • Shadowing practice with segments that the operator has selected, refined, and published
    • A vocabulary list of the words and expressions you heard while practicing
    • Records that show your practice time and count
    • Add Content: creating a new segment from a part of a YouTube video the member chooses
  2. To manage costs and keep the Service stable, the Company may limit how many segments one person can create with Add Content per day. When overall usage of the Service is high, Add Content may be temporarily unavailable.
  3. Add Content works only for videos spoken in English that have English captions. Depending on the video or its captions, a segment may not be created.
  4. The Service is currently free. If the Company introduces paid features, it will announce their details and prices in advance and will charge only members who separately agree.

Article 6 (Use of Generative AI)

  1. Script cleanup, sentence-by-sentence translations, key expressions, and word meanings and levels in the Service are created or refined with generative AI.
  2. AI-generated content may contain incorrect translations or misheard words. The Company works to make it accurate but does not guarantee its accuracy. If you report an error, we will check and fix it.

Article 7 (Segments Added by Members)

  1. Members may add only public YouTube videos that they have the right to watch.
  2. A segment added by a member is at first visible only to that member and to the operator who reviews it.
  3. The Company may review a segment added by a member (the video link, the chosen range, and the generated script, translation, and words) and publish it to all users of the Service, and may edit or refine it for that purpose. By agreeing to these Terms, the member permits the Company to use it this way within the Service. When it is published, the Company does not show who added it.
  4. Published segments remain as Service content even after the member withdraws. In that case, the information about who added them is deleted. Segments that have not been published are deleted on withdrawal.
  5. The Company may, without notifying the member, decline to publish or delete a segment that is suspected of infringing rights or does not suit the Service.

Article 8 (YouTube Videos and the YouTube Terms of Service)

  1. The videos in the Service are videos posted on YouTube, and their rights belong to the rights holders of those videos. In the Service, videos are played with the official YouTube player (YouTube API Services).
  2. By using the Service, you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms), and the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) applies to information that YouTube processes.
  3. If a video is removed from YouTube, made private, or blocked from embedding, its segment cannot be played.

Article 9 (Copyright and Infringement Reports)

  1. The rights to the Service's structure and screens, and to the translations and vocabulary lists made by the operator, belong to the Company. Members may use them only for personal study and may not copy or distribute them without the Company's permission.
  2. If you are a rights holder and believe a video or script in the Service infringes your rights, please let us know as follows.
    • Report email: [email protected] (with "Infringement Report" in the subject)
    • Please include: the rights holder's name and contact details, the segment in question (its title in the app or the YouTube video link), the basis of your rights, and what you are asking for
  3. On receiving a report, the Company will promptly stop showing that segment and inform the reporter of the outcome after checking. If a member added that segment, the Company may also inform that member.

Article 10 (Member Obligations)

Members must not do any of the following.

Article 11 (Restrictions on Use)

If a member violates Article 10, the Company may restrict their use of the Service or delete their account after giving notice in advance (or afterward, if urgent). The member may raise an objection at [email protected].

Article 12 (Withdrawal)

  1. Members may withdraw at any time with "Delete Account" under Settings > Account in the app. On withdrawal, practice records and added segments visible only to the member (segments not yet published) are deleted immediately and cannot be restored.
  2. How information is handled after withdrawal follows the Privacy Policy.

Article 13 (Changes to and Suspension of the Service)

  1. The Company may change what the Service provides, or pause the Service temporarily for maintenance, outages, or reasons involving outside services (YouTube, sign-in, servers).
  2. If the Service must end, the Company will announce it in the app and on the website 30 days in advance.

Article 14 (Limitation of Liability)

  1. The Service is provided free of charge, and the Company is not liable for damages arising from use of the Service unless caused by its intent or gross negligence.
  2. The Company is not responsible for the content or playability of YouTube videos, the accuracy of AI-generated content, or rights issues with videos added by members, except where the Company acted with intent or gross negligence.
  3. The Company is not liable when it cannot provide the Service because of events it cannot prevent, such as natural disasters or outages of outside services.

Article 15 (Governing Law and Disputes)

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and any dispute will be settled in the court having jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.

Addendum

These Terms take effect on October 21, 2026.
